USO Wounded Warrior Program gets help from Sage volunteers

Tuesday, 21 December 2010 08:43

Sage Management is proud to support the United Services Organization (USO), a non-profit organization dedicated to providing assistance to those serving in our military. Sage employees volunteer time to various activities such as manning the information desk and snack bar at the Thurgood Marshall BWI Airport USO Lounge and handing out Care Packages to deploying troops.

Recently, a team of Sage volunteers stuffed over 300 clothing kits for the Wounded Warrior Program. When military members are injured and medically evacuated back to the military hospitals in Europe and the US, all their clothing is left behind – all they have is what they are wearing. The USO worked with clothing manufacturers to acquire, at cost, T-shirts, athletic shorts, and stocking caps to put into a pouch with a toilet kit. The kits were assembled by volunteers, including the Sage Management team, sent to the military hospitals and distributed to Wounded Warriors as they arrive.
